Bonfire by DANIEL BOHN is a confident and passionate project with emotion at its core and a heavy metal soundscape to back it up. The interesting thing about the timbre of this track is the mix between the guitar and the drums. Unlike many tracks where the guitar takes centre stage from beginning to end, this track shares that responsibility between the vocals, guitar, and drums.

There are points in the composition where the purpose of the guitar and the drums feels totally switched. It is as if the guitar is the rhythmic foundation of the track and the drums are the emotive exploration of the piece’s themes. This back and forth between the piece’s instrumentation suggests a serious level of sonic cohesion between every instrument and a developed production style. That sense of chemistry and unified creative vision lends the piece a sense of confidence that gives it wind in its sails. I’m impressed by the ebb and flow of this track. When reaching such intense emotional highs, sometimes it is a struggle to come back down and ground yourself as an artist in the foundation of your sonic tapestry. This track masters that balance with intense high points and moments of space between them. This is not to say the track gives you any room to breathe as a listener. It is action from the opening bell. Instead, this ebb and flow shows that they can communicate that passion and power through a variety of tonal soundscapes. The vocals are very impressive, maintaining that deep, metal tone not just with pitch but also texture. The voice has a rugged charisma to it that elevates it. It works with the subtle distortion on the guitars to create a sound that engages as much as it explores narrative. The vocalist feels confident and that sense of conviction heightens the power of the project overall. I’m impressed by the power of this track and I’m excited to see what DANIEL BOHN does next.
