Legion (Remixes) by SIR-VERE bring new life to the original with every track taking a different perspective on a common theme and emotional core. The variety between each song feels like it elevates the project overall because it increases the depth and richness of the album. The Dan Kanopka remix is the first in the collection and does an excellent job of introducing the project’s sound in an emotive, powerful, yet approachable way. The song heavily emphasises the strumming and the percussive elements of the track. These aspects tie its sound to something more early 2000s inspired.

There are flavours of early Keane here which I really appreciate. The track has a quiet emotional resonance, allowing the listener to pick up on the narrative of the project in a way which doesn’t overwhelm. The next track, the S-VAS Remix, takes a bolder tone, with a more expressive bass line and an confident presence. Together, the two opening tracks balance each other out, providing the listener with two very different perspectives on the project's sonic tapestry. Although each version alone is fantastic, the power, for me, felt like it was in the difference between the two. Variety is the spice of life and that very much rings true here. The difference emphasises each of the pieces' individual strengths and contrast is one of the project’s best traits. The Vodzilla Remix is a personal favourite of mine. It has a vintage synth feel that is reminiscent of the eighties. The track excels in this neon drenched confidence. The main synth has a high register and a shiny timbre. It balances against the deep, bouncy, rhythmic bass. The contrast of these sections feel like a microcosm of the larger piece overall. This project is as diverse as it is impressive. I love how the different tones push, fold, and unfurl against one another to create a sound with a consistent soul and an ever changing tonal landscape.
